LID January Release Day 2 - All the Hearts

Hello! Welcome to the second day blog hop of the BRAND NEW January release at Lil' Inker Designs! Such fun products in this release - totally full of love and Valentine's Day goodness! You can find the entire new release HERE!

I have two cards to share today - both featuring hearts and lots of pink! I'm using two products in particular that are made to coordinate perfectly together, but also work very well on their own - the Perfect Palette Heart Cover Die and Heartthrob Stamp Set!

For this first card, I used the Perfect Palette Heart Cover Die. Once I removed all the hearts, I blended two different colors of distress oxide ink over the top and bottom edges for an ombre effect. I then used it to place just the alternating stitched dies behind their respective windows on my white cardbase, then popped that front panel up with foam adhesive.

I then die cut the beautiful With Love Word Die from gray cardstock and white cardstock and layered them together for a slightly sturdier embellishment. I added some detail with a white gel pen to make them look a little more dimensional, then after wrapping some twine around my cardfront, I attached the sentiment with a touch of foam adhesive and tied my bow around the first letter to make it look like it was tied on.

I absolutely love this soft color combo of white, pink, and gray!

For the next card, I used the fun and graphic Heartthrob Stamp set to create a super clean and simple design!

Want to know the secret for how I lined these hearts up so perfectly? I actually die cut one corner of the Perfect Palette Heart Cover Die from a piece of scrap paper, trimming it so that I had just the window for four hearts. I lined it up on the front of my card, holding it in place with removable tape. Once I used it as a window to stamp the hearts in place, I removed it and stamped my sentiment underneath!

I used the solid half of the hearts from Heartthrob to stamp in a softer pink color, then three of the different stylized elements to stamp in a deeper shade of pink. I love the graphic feel this gives!

I'm always a sucker for a good CAS card - I feel like they are a little tough for me to pull off, so I'm always happy when I find a design like this that I like!

  14. The heartthrob stamp set confused me until I saw it in use, and now I love it!! The hearts are much more interesting than just a solid hearts of a single color or pattern. I also like the other card using the great new dies!
