Pinkfresh and Page Maps

{{{If you're looking for my Seasons Giving Blog Hop and Giveaway post click HERE, or scroll back to find the post!}}}

Good morning! I recently had the opportunity with the Pinkfresh Design Team to collaborate with Becky Fleck and CardMaps! So today I'm stopping by to share my card and more details on it with you! You can check out the rest of the info HERE.

Here is the sketch I was given to work with:

I've learned over time that I like sketches a lot more when I try less to follow them exactly to the letter, and embrace a bit more freedom in my approach. Before this, I really HATED working with sketches! Once I found I could use them a little more as a simple guideline and change them up to fit what I wanted to create, I enjoyed them a lot more! So you may notice some of the slight changes I made on my take on the sketch:

I started off by using the beautiful Folklore Die for my background, but instead of punching the design out, I adhered it all together on my card base. I then did some distress oxide ink blending over the top and bottom edges in an ombre pattern - I love how this makes the detail of the die pop out! I added some white paint splatters, and set it aside to dry.

I stamped the cute bears from Happy Hugs, colored with simple Copic marker colors, and die cut with the coordinating Happy Hugs Dies. I then added some die cut squares on the background, and added the bears over the top of that. Finished off with my sentiment stamped diagonally on another square, some jute twine, and a few enamel dots!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to share that I'm delighted to be continuing on with the Pinkfresh DT for the next term - and transitioning into a new roll on the Video Education Team! So excited! And check out all these fabulous faces that will be part of the team:

  2. Brilliant take on the sketch! I would have run from one so busy but your design still manages to feel clean and uncluttered.
