Happy Thanksgiving - Pretty Pink Posh August Release

Good morning! Stopping by today with a card using some of the BRAND NEW release from Pretty Pink Posh that just went live! This release is all about fall, and there are so many fun and fabulous things in this release! Make sure and pop by later this week for a fabulous 2 day blog hop featuring the new release!

I love some of the sweet little scene stamp sets that Pretty Pink Posh has released over the past several releases, and this adorable Thanksgiving Scene stamp set is no exception! I mean, are those critters adorable or what?!?!?

I started off by stamping the image in the lower portion of my card, then I stamped it again on masking paper, carefully fussy cut it out, then applied the mask and a row of post it tape along the bottom so I could leave a white ground for my sentiment.

I blended some Scattered Straw distress ink around the edges of the masked top half of the card, then laid the new Pumpking Background stencil over the top (after misting with Pixie Spray to hold it in place) and applied some Wild Honey distress ink over those same edges for some fun texture. I removed the mask, then colored my image in with Copic markers and a few white gel pen accents.

I was going to stop there, but it felt like it needed something else. I had already tossed my mask, but I did still have the slippery background that was fussy cut out and peeled from the back of my mask, so I carefully laid that over my image, taped the bottom again, and added some various splatters for texture. I added some Perfect Pearls mixed with water, some white paint mixed with water, and a few black splatters with Pinkfresh Studio's liquid watercolors. I removed the mask (which had done a fairly good, even if not perfect, job of protecting the image. The little overlap of the splatters actually worked for me though - made it seem a more seamless design. Finished off with a few jewels from the new Harvest Jewels Mix for a bit of sparkle and texture.
