Bold Blushing Florals Card - Pinkfresh Studio YouTube Live

Good morning! Dropping by today to share a card that I created earlier this week on Pinkfresh Studio's YouTube Live - I used a set that generally makes me think of soft colors, and switched them out with bold colors this time, and I love the effect!! You can watch the video replay HERE if you want to see more details and watch this card come together.

Here is the replay of the live video if you'd like to watch it here:

I don't know why I haven't tried this before, but I decided to stamp the image in Detail Black ink, and heat emboss with clear embossing ink. The Blushing Floral cling stamp was perfect for this effect I felt, since it had such a fine and dainty line - the black didn't make it to heavy or dark. While Detail Black ink is specifically designed for heat embossing, it does stay slightly wet long enough to work if you don't take too long.

Then I stenciled the florals using the coordinating Blushing Floral layering stencils. I used rich reds and yellows for the florals, and deep greens for the flowers. I concentrated color for each layer at the base of the flowers and leaves to add extra dimension. It created SUCH a beautiful background!

I die cut that with Stitched Rectangles die, then die cut a frame from Fancy Circles from matte gold cardstock. I love how the gold pops against the background, but isn't too distracting either.

For the sentiment, I hot foiled the Celebrate word in Opaque Black Glimmer foil - then foiled the reverse using the Solid Hot Foil Plate. I wasn't sure which one I wanted to use, but once I got them both finished, it was pretty clear that the reverse one was perfect for this card, and stood out best on that pretty background.

I added the circle frame with foam adhesive, and then popped the celebrate word up with a bit of foam adhesive in the center of the word, letting the rest hold itself up on the circle frame. Then I stamped a secondary sentiment from Heart Smiles stamp set in Detail Black ink, and mounted that on foam tucked under the larger sentiment.

The entire card was mounted on a coordinating deep pink cardstock, and then while I struggled a bit to add bling to this card, I finally settled on some of those fabulous new Glitter Drops in Butterscotch, tucked onto areas of the circle frame. It was a different way than I have used them before, I but I love the finished effect. I always love finding new ways to add bling to a card - how about you?
