I have two cards to share today using the fun new Snowflake Hexagon wafer die - and this time, I am sharing cards featuring die cutting! I thought it was funny that the first cards I shared with the release were all stamping, and didn't have any die cutting at all on them - haha!
Both the cards I'm sharing with this die have a completely different look. I used different pattern paper and embellishments, and different sentiments on each of them.
For this first one, I die cut it from matte gold cardstock - it has such an elegant feel that way!
I used the center cut from the next card you'll see further down, and for that one I cut the die from white cardstock. I used this to nest into this one and add my sentiment.
I did a tiny bit of masking on a sentiment from the Joy to You and Yours stamp set from the December Card Kit - masking off the outer frame so I just used the sentiment. I love the retro feel it has that fits so well on this card!
The pattern paper in the background is from the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Holidays 6x6 paper pad. I die cut it with Basic Rectangles dies - I could have just trimmed it down, but I love how perfectly this sizes it, and you have those lovely finished edges that are so nice.
I adhered that down with foam adhesive on a white cardbase, and then added the snowflake frame. I used tiny bits of tape to adhere the white center into the snowflake frame, then adhered it with foam adhesive in the center, and tiny dots of foam on the centers and select edges of the snowflakes.
Finally, I went a little crazy with the bling! I used Pinkfresh Glitter Drops in 3 different colors - I was worried it would be too much, but I love the classy finish it gave this card! I used Ruby, Leaf, and Gold, each in different places.
For the next card, I pivoted from a very Christmas feeling, to a winter vibe!
I used pattern paper from the same paper pad, just chose a frosty blue version with snowflakes.
I popped that pattern paper up on my white cardbase, then adhered the white snowflake frame directly down on that background this time instead of popping up with foam.
For the sentiment on this one, I used some older releases. I used the CZ Design Like You wafer die, cutting the shadow layer from vellum, and the main layer from matte silver cardstock. I added secondary sentiments from the coordinating CZ Design Like You Words stamp set.
I adhered the larger sentiment in the center of the hexagon, directly in place. Then trimmed the other sentiments down and adhered with foam adhesive.
Finally, I finished off with a few frosty Iridescent Color Drops from Pinkfresh - the perfect touch of icy sparkle - I just love them!
And there you have it - a completely different card using the same main die set. I love how versatile dies are!
If you are looking for a bit more inspiration with this fun release - I shared these two cards a couple days ago when the release went live. You can read all the details for these cards HERE if you want more info:
