Elegant Sweetheart - Simon Says Stamp Smitten AND Sweetheart Release Blog Hop Day 2

For my card today, I used several items from the new release! I started off with the new Heart Banners layering stencils. While they are designed to layer together into a banner shape, I just randomly used layers and mixed them around to get a random background - I didn't want the specific straight lines, and since I was using all of one color family of inks to blend, I wanted them to actually overlap. Love versatility! I added the beautiful frame with Ornate Borders and Frames stamp set, stamped in black, then the new Sweetheart word die, cut from gold cardstock for the detail layer, and white for the shadow layer. I layered it all on a background piece of coordinating colored cardstock that I added some texture to using the new Tessellating Snowflakes 3D embossing folder, a secondary sentiment from the previously released Elegantly Modern Greetings. Finished off with a few Pinkfresh Champagne Clear Drops!

    Love that you used the Heart Banner layering set to create a non-banner background. It's good to have other ideas to use with this stencil other than the obvious. Your color choices are soft and sweet-great for anyone receiving this. I also like that you used the fancy border around the outside. Such a seemingly simple card, but very pretty.

    Lovely card, I liked the random placement of hearts in the background. The soft colors and the black border combined with the card base border nicely frames the card. Thanks for sharing.
