Good morning! I had a little spare time yesterday evening, and couldn't resist playing along with one of the brand new challenges on the brand new MFT Challenge blog hosted by the fabulous Susan Opel! I just loved the color challenge, and had recently acquired some of the inks and cardstock in the color scheme - so I set out to make a card inspired by the colors, and also incorporated the sketch!!!
Here is the yummy color combo for the Color Challenge:
And here is the sketch for the Sketch Challenge - I flipped it upside down for my card:
I made a watercolor background with some MFT dye ink - smooshed it on my non-stick pad, then picked it up with a waterbrush. Next, I die cut the anchor from Let's Get Nautical Die-namics 3 times EACH out of the other three colors of cardstock, layered and glued together each color, then attached them slightly offset with the hole lined up at the top. A little hard to tell in the photos, but this makes a SUPER thick and dimensional embellishment! I covered it with Wink of Stella, added a heavy coat of Glossy Accents on the top, then attached some jute twine once it dried. Stamped my sentiment from Go Overboard, layered the watercolor panel on some solid cardstock, and added a few star sequins - before finally misting the front with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in gold for a final finishing touch.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a fabulous day!!!
