Hello! Back for the third and final day of the blog hop to celebrate the BRAND NEW May release at Lil' Inker Designs! It's been a little while since we've had a release - but this one is worth the wait! Such a fun and fresh mix of new products! You can find the entire new release HERE!
You should have arrived here from Chrissy Larson - if you stopped by here you can refer to the entire blog hop at the bottom so you don't miss a stop or a chance to win the amazing giveaway. I also have links to all the new products I used on today's cards!
Today's card is perfectly bright and bold and tropical using the new Think Happy Thoughts Tropical Stamp set! Makes me feel like summer, and think of visiting my brother and his family who live in Hawaii!
One of my favorite things about Hawaii are all the flowers - I'm forever taking pictures of them all! These were super fun to layer up. Even though they aren't designed for that purpose, I used the solid leaves to sort of "color" the outline leaves - it gives a nice modern and artsy look to them!
The flowers I stamped and colored with one single Copic color, and added some white gel pen accents. The coordinating dies are designed to cut the flowers out with the stamen's attached, but I stamped them a different direction, so those I just fussy cut out myself to make them work how I intended. I arranged everything how I wanted, then used Press and Seal (Jennifer McGuire trick!) to pick up the entire arrangement, add foam adhesive to the backing, and then press it back in place on my card front.
I did some ink blending with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to create a background and a generous sprinkle of Perfect Pearls mixed with water, added a sentiment from Be Sweet Stamp Set (also with a few white gel pen accents, and then added a generous sprinkling of sparkling clear sequins in different sizes. I matted that panel with a bit of coordinating solid cardstock, then adhered it to a white cardbase to finish it off!
