Paper Smooches - NOVEMBER 2019 Blog Hop

Good morning! I'm delighted this morning to be joining in as guest designer this month for the BRAND NEW Paper Smooches Release Blog Hop! There are 2 new stamp sets, 4 new dies, and 2 stencils! You can find the new release HERE! There are also prizes up for grabs along the blog hop today - check out the bottom of my post for more details!

I have a total of 3 cards to share with you today - first up this card with mostly stenciling, and just a bit of die cutting and stamping!

For this first card, I started off by die cutting the new To From Tag Die from white cardstock, then did some stenciling with the new Botanicals Stencil and my distress inks. I masked off the parts I wasn't using which made it super quick and easy!

I then tucked a few Pretty Pink Posh jewels on the flowers to add some texture and shine, and threaded through some jute string through the top.

For the cardbase, I used another new stencil - Savvy Stencil - and more distress ink to add a stripe along the background, and also added some black splatters to the background with my Pinkfresh Studio Licorice Liquid watercolors. I finished off by stamping a sentiment from the new Feel Better Sampler stamp set on the bottom, and attached the tag with foam adhesive, tucking the ends of the jute string behind the tag. I love how that final touch turned out!

Next up, I have a fun shaker card using the adorable new Well Wishes stamp set and coordinating Well Wishes Icons Dies.

For this card, I started off by die cutting the window through the front panel of the card, then stamped my that huge sentiment in all it's adorableness through the window onto another panel of white cardstock and coloring it in with Copic markers.

I then created the shaker and filled it with a few sparkly 3mm sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

Finally, I added a layer of yellow cardstock behind the shaker element, and mounted the entire thing onto a blue cardbase.

Finally - I have a card featuring entirely die cutting - no stamping or stenciling at all!

This final card uses the fun new Sunflower Dies - I die cut them all from plain watercolor cardstock, then did some ink smooshing with distress inks to add color to them. Once all the layers dried, I assembled them with some liquid adhesive and adhered them to a panel of white cardstock.

For the sentiment, I die cut the new Thinking of You Die from white cardstock and black cardstock, then did some ink blending on the white layer to make it coordinate with the flower above. I adhered them together slightly offset, and layered them onto my card as well.

I added a nice coating of Glossy Accents over the letters for some fun dimension and shine...

...and also to the center of the sunflower! I always love the fun shine that adding Glossy Accents adds to a card!

  8. I love your idea of what to do with the ties from the tag on your first card. I like the look of tags on a card but I'm always at a loss as to what to do with them. Cut short they hardly make any sense. You've just solved my dilemma! Thanks!
