Birthday Wishes Balloon Shaker - Pretty Pink Posh

Good morning! I'm stopping by today with a card using some of the most recent release from Pretty Pink Posh - actually created this closer to the release, but didn't get it written up to share until now! This card uses the fun new Balloon Shaker Die, with a nice inky background!

For this card, I actually started with the background. I wanted it to work for a guy card, so I went with appropriate colors of Distress Oxide inks and working from lightest to darkest  - Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Pine Needles, and a touch of Black Soot around the edges just to deepen the color enough.

Once I got the color on right, it was time to add LOTS of splatters! I used Perfect Pearls mixed with water, a bit of white acrylic paint mixed with water, and finally, a bit of that same Black Soot distress oxide mixed with a bit of water and splattered on. I set that aside so it could dry nice and thoroughly.

While that dried, I assembled the shaker element! I die cut that fun balloon from white cardstock, then traced around the edges of the die onto some acetate and carefully cut inside those lines to get it to the perfect size to fit behind the balloon.

I adhered it to my background, adding lots of sparkly Gold Mini Star Confetti to the inside, then added a string and loopy bow to the balloon using some jute string to finish off!
