Peace and Joy Ornaments - Pinkfresh Studio Facebook Live Card

Good morning! Dropping by today to share a card I made yesterday for Pinkfresh Studio's Facebook Live. This week I pulled out some layered ornament stencils, and added in a few items from the recent Essentials release - I love how it turned out! You can watch the replay HERE if you want to see more details.

As much as I love a good traditional Christmas color combo, I absolutely adore using non-traditional colors, especially when they work SOO well - like this card! You can see my color inspiration HERE on Pinterest if you are curious - I think it translated so well to ornaments.

I did a bit of masking with the Holiday Ornaments layering stencils so I could get the ornaments in 3 different color combos. The first one is Peach Fuzz and Apricot, second is Ocean Breeze and Aquamarine, and final one is Sparkling Rose and Raspberry Bliss. I then blended embossing ink for the top of the ornaments, and heat embossed them in gold for some extra sparkle.

For the evergreen branch, I stenciled that 3 times using a mix of Fresh Pear and Evergreen ink for some dimension and depth. I wanted extra branches to layer together - and isn't all that dimension super fun?!? I die cut everything with the coordinating Holiday Ornaments dies.

The frame was inspired by a card Lea Lawson created for the release blog hop (you can see it HERE) - and paired up the Folk Edge rectangles with the Blanket Stitched rectangles die cut from matte gold cardstock to add a frame. I love how they work so well together - and couldn't wait to try it on my own card!

I also used Diamond Plaid stencil to add some interest to the background - with a mix of Misty Coast and Rocky Slope ink, before adding the ornaments with foam adhesive, and layering the branches at the top. I also added some coordinating jewels from Essentials: Jewels mix on the ornaments for some extra sparkle.

Finally, I used a sentiment from Perfect Sentiments: Holiday that I created with the reverse foil piece and Solid Foil Plate, a few Matte Gold Pearls in clusters on the greenery, and a secondary sentiment from Thrill of Hope stamp set to finish this card off!

I also wanted to mention that the stencil I used on this card is part of this week's promo at Pinkfresh - all standalone A2 stencils are 20% off with the code below - woohoo! Great chance to grab any of those you've been wanting to try!

It's also a great chance to test out some layering stencils and see what you think!
