Good morning! Dropping by today to share a card that was from several weeks ago on Pinkfresh Studio's YouTube Live - I had fun mixing and matching ink colors to create this tropical color palette! You can watch the video replay HERE if you want to see more details and watch these cards come together. The card I finally blogged a little over a week ago was my first experience with this particular color combo, and I liked it so much, that I decided to recreate it on a totally different card live. This card is the result!
I used the Painted Daisies stamp, stencil, and die combo, and mixed ink colors on each layer to achieve different layered effects. If you watch the video linked above, you can see a bit better how it all came together. I also stamped my outline in Aquamarine ink - sometimes fun to use an unexpected color for the image outline!
Once finished, I cut the floral piece in half to create my card. I wanted to turn it into a slimline card, so this was the best way to add some florals at both the top and the bottom of my panel. I also used the Hexagon Tiles coverplate die to add texture to my slimline panel. Since these dies don't have cutting lines around the outer edges, you can match up the pattern and die cut larger panels if you wish. LOVE that!
I hot foiled a sentiment from Modern Script Sentiments in gold foil, and die cut it out, then die cut a Blanket Stitched Oval in the center of my longer panel to give the sentiment a place to rest, and so my colored cardbase would show through a bit more. I love how that color coordinated so well with the final colors on the florals.
To add some interest to the card, I die cut a Slim Stitched Scallop Rectangle from matte gold cardstock, and popped it up with foam adhesive on the background for a touch of dimension.
Finished off with a few coordinating jewels arranged around the top and bottom borders of the oval!
