Mint and Gold Stars - Wish Big!

Good afternoon! If you are looking for my Day 1 My Craft Spot January Release Post, scroll down, or click HERE.

I just wanted to drop by and post a card I made Sunday afternoon for the first My Favorite Things Sketch challenge of 2014, and also combined with the Moxie Fab World Trendy Star Power Challenge:

Here is this weeks sketch - LOVE how basic and adaptable it is:

I followed the sketch pretty exactly. I pulled out a MFT star stencil, and some American Crafts pattern paper and went to work. I used some soft mint pattern paper, and applied embossing paste with the stencil, then sprinkled on lots of gold American Crafts Glitter. It was so hard to get a good picture - but this is such a sparkly and glittery card in real life! The background mint paper is also an ombre pattern - another big trend!

Used a MFT sentiment stamp and heat embossed with Zing Glitter Gold embossing powder, then added a bit of MFT hemp twine to finish it off.

Have a great afternoon! See you tomorrow for more My Craft Spot sneak peeks!

MCS January Release - Day 1

Good morning! I can't tell you how excited I am to be starting off the first day of sneak peeks for the newest release at My Craft Spot! This is a packed and fabulous release - I am in love with every bit of it!!! I used the stamp set we are sharing samples of today - "Chalkboard Sentiments" - as well as two of the new dies - "Small Bow" and "Edgers" metal dies. Here is my card:

I so love chalkboard style sentiments, but thought it might be fun to use if for something other than the chalkboard technique I love so much! So I heat embossed with white powder on vellum. LOVE the soft effect it gives!

I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut the center stitched rectangle, and then cut the new Small Bow die with white cardstock. I am SOOO loving this bow! I love that it is plain and simple - so very elegant! I added a small gem to the center to finish it off.

I used some Basic Grey Persimmon 6x6 pattern papers, and white cardstock and the new Edgers dies to make the white border in the center. Finished off by rounding all the corners with my Corner Chomper.

Make sure and head over to My Craft Spot to see what the rest of the Design Team has put together - and leave a comment for a chance at today's giveaway:

See you back here tomorrow for more sneak peeks! Have a great day!!!

Vintage Valentine

Hello! Just popping in with my entry for the current Unity {Be Inspired} Challenge:

I decided to use both the color and sketch challenge - I just turned the sketch on it's side:

I used the December 2013 Kit of the Month, and stamped and heat embossed the heart border 3 times with Zing embossing powder. I used a Tim Holtz distress marker to color around the inside of the hearts, then a water brush to blend. Added some dots with a white gel pen, then covered the hearts with Glossy Accents and Tim Holtz Rock Candy glitter. Once all of that dried, I added a bit of white Mister Huey's mist, and inked the edges with distress ink, then wrapped some jute twine around and tied in a bow.

For the center panel, I also heat embossed the image with Zing embossing powder, did a bit of coloring with a distress marker, then applied lots of distress ink to age that to how I wanted it.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!!!

Strength and Dignity...

Good morning! I'm excited to be playing along with the first Unity Friends With Flair of 2014! WOW! Where did 2013 go? I absolutely LOVE this sentiment from the November 2013 KOTM - could it be better for the new year?!?!?!

I am also linking this up with the new CAS-ual Friday's Challenge - In a Word. The challenge is to use a word that is something you hope for in the New Year. I kind of like strength...I have had lots of opportunities in the last year to learn how strong I can be when I lean on the Lord - and want to continue to grow in that area this year as well!

I stamped my sentiment with MFT ink on a rectangle cut with my Lil' Inker's Rectangle Dies, then flicked some Martha Stewart blue pearl paint on it. The edges are also inked with distress ink.

The background is pattern paper from Basic Grey's 6x6 Persimmon paper pad, and a diagonal strip of Avery Elle kraft cardstock, with some glitter washi tape along the border.

I tucked a doily behind the sentiment panel, then die cut a few feathers with a MFT die. I debossed with PTI's Linen Impression Plate, then spritzed with a bit of Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine. The white one also has a bit of Glossy Accents and Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Glitter on it. Finished off with some natural jute twine wrapped and tied around.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful first weekend of 2014!!!

Be Brave, Strong, and Courageous

Good morning! Just dropping by to quickly share a card for the current Runway Inspired Challenge:

Here is the inspiration photo:

I loved the floral patterns in the jacket, as well as that lovely green/yellow color! So I pulled out my Unity Stamps and went to work. I stamped the larger doily from Grandma's Closet on white cardstock, and heat embossed with clear powder. Then I put a little of two different colors of Mister Huey's on a non-stick mat, and used a water brush to dab them over the top and blend out. Once that dried, I stamped my sentiment from the Unity November 2013 Kit of the Month.

Stacked the layers together with lots of foam adhesive, with some MME pattern paper, some jute twine, and on a base of Avery Elle White Woodgrain Cardstock, then finished off with a few enamel dots. Finally, because it seemed like it needed something, I added an resin flower to the center of the bow.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your new year has been off to a great start so far!

Happy New Years!

Good morning - and Happy 2014!!! Can't believe that we are already celebrating a New Year - but here is my card to help celebrate!

I made this first of all for the final 10 Minute Craft Dash - so sad to see it ending! It has always been one of my favorites!

And I managed to get this one done with about a minute and a half left! YAY!

10 Minute Craft Dash also paired up with CAS-ual Fridays this time around - so I made it with a New Years Theme for that as well!

I used a Neat and Tangled's Party Dots Stamp Set - such a fun set - and perfect for my New Years theme! I stamped the bubble dots several times in Delicata Golden Glitz Ink and Hero Arts Mint Julep ink - LOVE that color combo!

I added a cityscape border cut with a MFT Die-namics die, and a strip of kraft paper at the bottom of that.

Added a couple of strips of washi tape in coordinating colors, and tied some black jute twine around to finish it off.

This is also posting on the Neat and Tangled blog today - and at Ribbon Carousel - as well as linking up with the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Something New

Again - Happy New Year! Have a blessed day!
