I have two clean and simple cards - but with a striking and bold color combo to share today!
I used the new
Chinese Lantern Stem die for both of these cards. I actually only planned to do one card, but once I die cut it out of both colors of cardstock, I decided to reverse the images and create two cards - hard to waste a good die cut!
I love how the die cuts out the outline, as well as the shadow layer to go behind the lanterns. I die cut it once from
Black cardstock, and once from
Burnt Orange, and then added the reverse of each behind the lantern.
I added foam adhesive to the back of each flower, then added liquid glue in a few spots to the stems and bases of the leaves. This gave some varied dimension to the cards.
Sentiments are from another new set -
Well Wishes stamp set. Love the mix of bold sentiments with secondary sentiments - perfect to pair together!
For a tiny bit of extra interest, I rounded off the lower right corner of each card. Just a tiny touch, but it helps draw the eye around the card through that wider open space!
I left these cards at this - no bling or additional embellishment. Sometimes it's fun to just let things shine as they are!
