Good morning! I'm excited today to be hopping along for day 2 of a 3 day blog hop to celebrate the BRAND NEW February Birthday Release from Pretty Pink Posh (also available in a bundle HERE if you just want it all!)! Since Pretty Pink Posh is celebrating it's 8th birthday, this release is full of fun birthday theme items - perfect for those celebrations in your own life! Keep reading for more info, details on my cards I'm sharing today, AND of course, some giveaway info at the bottom as well!
I used the adorable
Layered Cupcakes stencils to create SEVERAL cards to share today! I used the entire stencil on a panel of cardstock - and did each row with a different color combo. I finished with some glitter, and then trimmed the rows apart to create a total of 4 different cards! If I had kept the color scheme the same, I could have easily mass produced many more sets as well!
I blended the base layer of the cupcakes and the frosting, masking each row and moving down with different color combos on each one.
Next, I added the detail layer stencil, and blended more of each color over the top, which just added some tone on tone depth to each layer. It's also a great way to stretch your inks!
Next, I added some glitter paste over the top of that same stencil layer for some fun sparkle, and set them aside to dry thoroughly, before trimming into strips to use for my cards!
To each card I added a border die cut using
Stitched Borders 2, mounted the strip with foam adhesive over the border layer, then mounted on coordinating cardstock. I finished each one off with a stamped and die cut sentiment using the fun new
Birthday Scripts stamp set and
coordinating die, also mounted with foam adhesive. Nice and simple - and I loved playing with different color combos!
Now...I had another strip, but I accidentally smudged one of the glitter layers on the outer cupcake...so I had to trim it off, and come up with a slightly different card design! No sense wasting a mistake - so instead, I stepped up the design for this card to make up for it!
Since the stencil layers on this were pink and purple and all about the girly colors, I made my layers reflect that. I used two tones of pink cardstock, and a die cut border using a combination of
Stitched Borders 2 and
Stitched Borders 4.
I also added some foam adhesive to the cupcake strip layer, and embellished with some of the fun new
Flamingo pearls.
Sentiment was created with a mix of the new
Celebrate Script die, and a stamped sentiment from the new
Build a Cupcake stamp set - stamped in the same purple ink that I blended over the cupcake bases for perfect coordination. :)
