Layered Christmas - Simon Says Stamp December 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm back with another card using the BRAND NEW December Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Joyful Season! This kit is festive and fun, and perfect for sending Christmas wishes across the miles this year! The included stamp set by the same name has beautiful vintage images and stunning sentiments, there is some LOVELY vintage holiday pattern paper and ephemera, a fun Candy Cane Heart die, and the newest distress ink color! That's all not to mention the cardstock, envelopes, and more!

Today I'm playing with the pattern paper, ribbon, and ephemera in the kit for this fun and easy layered card!

I die cut the first layer of pattern paper using Wonky Rectangles dies - then just trimmed the other two layers down to rectangles, each sized slightly smaller than the last.

I added one of the bits of ephemera from the kit, and layered everything together using foam adhesive between some of the layers, and tucking a bit of the lovely velvet ribbon between a couple of the layers. I also rounded off a couple corners to add some interest to the outer edges!

Here is a closer look at the entire kit contents - you can find all the details HERE:

Holiday Hugs - Simon Says Stamp December 2020 Card Kit

Good morning! I'm here today to share my first card with the BRAND NEW December Simon Says Stamp Card Kit - Joyful Season!

Today I'm sharing a card with some of that yummy pattern paper, and one of the fun dies included in the kit!

I die cut the layers of the Candy Cane Heart die, using pattern paper for the bottom layers, and white cardstock for the top and adhered them together. I used two different pattern papers included in the kit, die cutting one of them with a Wonky Rectangle, and layered them together, mounting with foam adhesive on a white cardbase.

I adhered the candy cane heart, then stamped a simple sentiment from the stamp set on a strip of white cardstock and trimmed it into a banner before mounting with foam adhesive over the hearts. I thought it was the perfect sentiment for this card, don't you think?!?

Embossed Cameo Card - Simon Says Stamp Holly Jolly Release

Hello! I am a bit late, but wanted to share my first card using some of the fun items in the BRAND NEW Simon Says Stamp Holly Jolly Release! One last holiday release before it's time to move on to the next seasons - and some of this release would actually be super versatile beyond the holiday - for example, the lovely embossing folder I used on my card I'm sharing below! I added a Christmas sentiment, and used fairly bright and happy tones of the traditional red and green Christmas tones - but another sentiment would fit equally well on here also!

For some reason, this gorgeous Peony Bundle embossing folder made me think of a fun design on a cameo necklace - anyone know what I'm talking about? Well...I took that inspiration, and used it on a piece of white cardstock that I first die cut with a nice large oval die. I then inked it up to show all that lovely texture - first with Spun Sugar all over, then Worn Lipstick around the edges, and lightly over the top of the flowers to show off all that depth in the embossing. Such a lovely effect, and so many options for colors to use for this!

To add a bit of texture and interest to the card, I layered up a couple pieces of white cardstock, each cut a bit smaller than the white card base or layer underneath it. I curled up the edges a bit before adhering them down to give the illusion of a more depth in the layers without the bulk of foam adhesive between each one. I also tucked a strip of green pattern paper from a Memory Box 6x6 pattern paper pad under, curling up the outer edges in the same way.

Finished off by mounting the oval with foam adhesive, cutting up one of the sentiments from Slimline Christmas Sentiment Strips, and mounting that with foam adhesive as well. Finally, a few sparkling clear sequins add just a touch of sparkle and shine!
